Lost in Paris

There we were, two Americans who had lost our friends, met French students, became besties and ended up in a penthouse in Paris. All in the span of a couple hours.

How did we end up lost in Paris?

Let's start from the beginning.......

It's 7 p.m., and about 10 of my friends that also had an internship decided to go on a Seine River cruise around Paris. The architecture of Paris surrounded us down the river while the sunsetted leaving a golden hour unimaginable. Besides the gorgeous views, my friends and I decided to plan the rest of the night. Where should we get food or drinks? Where will we end up?

We decided on the 18th Arrodisoment near the Moulin Rouge, this area is covered by young locals and the overall vibe of the street is very Parisian chill.

When we walked off the boat and used the metro to get to the bars, we decided to stop at the "Dirty Dicks" bar. And when I say we, it was three guys and five other girls, including Luisa, one of my co-workers at Leclaireur fashion store in France. To give you some background, Luisa became my best friend in Paris and did everything together. We hung out with the same people, shopped at the same stores and thrived at the club. It was a Wednesday night, and we both had work in the morning, so the club was probably not happening, but going out with friends was ideal.

The nine of us consumed a few rounds of drinks when Luisa and I decided to leave the bar to find street food real quick. This was our first mistake; leaving the group. We walked a couple of blocks, and nothing, at least what we wanted. Then we found a club.....

YESSS, a club!!

We walked up to the bouncer.

Denied!

Like what??? A club has never denied us. Luisa and I, crying inside, accidentally ran into some French students who were also denied.

Suddenly, we got to chatting, and Luisa and I soon became best friends with this friend group. We started talking about living in Paris, the French drama, where we were from, what we did for a living and what our futures looked like. In all honesty, I never became friends with a group faster. I mean the girl even gave me her belt because my pants were falling down ( not like all the way, but she felt bad lol).

Anyway lol....

An hour later, we all got drinks, hopped in an uber and found ourselves on our way to one of the friend's penthouses with a view of the Eiffel Tower.

Jaw dropped. It was a movie: the Parisian balcony, the lit-up Eiffel Tower, the hot French men and the funniest group of friends. Luisa and I couldn't believe our eyes.

We had no idea where we were, but at least we had each other.

With the tower in the background, all of us were sitting on the balcony, playing cards, laughing and chatting. Life was simple, but it was extraordinary. Three hours later, Luisa and I took an Uber back to our apartment.

There you have it, the story of Luisa and I lost in Paris. Many other details will never be shared, but one thing is for sure that night was one of the most iconic, funniest and unexpected things ever to happen. To this day, I still have the belt of the French girl.

A night that will never be forgotten.

bisous bisous <3
