the halloween drop

Spooky Season!

It's finally that time of year when the weather gets breezy and the sky is a bit gloomier.

It's weird though, I've never really liked Halloween. This may just be because the season always comes up so fast for me or that I always feel rushed trying to pick a costume. It's the biggest stress of the season.

One thing I do love about Halloween is the aesthetic. I'm talking about pumpkins, costumes, fall leaves, the orange, the black, and the sweatshirt weather vibe. Don't even let me get started about the weather. The time of year is absolutely to die for. Not too hot not too cold, just the right temperature to achieve anything your heart desires.  It's really a perfect time of year and I should appreciate it a bit more than I usually do.

So, this year I am.

When I was a kid, I use to carve pumpkins every year. However, since high school soccer and being in college I just felt that time was limited to create a jack-o-lantern. This year I felt a little more festive and managed to carve my pumpkin early. At least earlier than usual.

My roommate and I decided to go all out and carve pumpkins to dress up for the occasion. Now I know you've probably seen the pumpkin challenge around the internet or Dwight starting it on the Office. But we decided to put a little fun into the whole Halloween scene and do it ourselves.

Basic, I know, but at least I put some work into appreciating Halloween again. The pumpkin heads may look simple but let me tell you there were sweat and tears put into carving those. If I had to recommend some help, I would definitely buy a new knife and not just an old bendy one laying in your kitchen.

Other than some struggles this trend is the aesthetic everyone wants during Halloween and I hope you try it out.

Now I just need to figure out what my actual costume will be. Wish me luck :)

  2. Alaina, having someone to do spooky season stuff with is always fun. I would love to just dress up in a costume just for a day or remember how much fun it was as a kid. Who cares about the candy, its just a time to have fun. Also those pumpkin pictures are so cute, you two are awesome for doing that!

  4. Alaina, I personally love the vibe of Halloween. I love the cooler weather and when the leaves change color. It is always fun doing Halloween stuff with your friends. I personally would like to do more stuff like that during Halloween, but I just don't have the time. I still think this is one of the best times of the year.
