city of lights
I blinked, and it was gone.
The lights, the fashion, the people, cafes and croissants were all behind me.
But one thing I know I will never forget is the nightlife. Being in Paris in your twenties is like being a radical in the 1920s; you feel as if no one exists and are free to live the life you dreamed of. The nightlife in Paris made you feel the urge exactly to point.
I quickly learned that you could find a party in Paris, like looking for a tree in a jungle; they are everywhere. Every corner you turn theirs a cafe with flashing lights or a bar with live music; the city is constantly alive. I mean, you can't go out every night, but trust me, I did not waste a second in Paris. There are a few nights that will go down as some of the wildest nights of my life.
There are specific ques you must know before going out in Paris. Thursday, everyone goes out, it's usually a bar till 2 am or a long dinner, occasionally a club. Friday is date night, it's a little harder to find a wild bar unless you just go to the club, but Fridays are usually casual. Now Saturday, Saturday is the best day of the week. Every club in town is open and it's officially the day to dance. Now to go clubbing the right way in Paris, you must go to the bars around 11 pm, get a few drinks and wait for the clubs to open at 1 am. You dance till the sun rises around 5:30 am and hop back on the metro.
On the first Saturday, we were in Paris; we went to a bar street in Bastille, the 11s arrondissement, where we officially experienced the nightlife in Paris. The street was covered in bars, anywhere from a jungle-themed inside to a dance floor that consisted of a trampoline feel. You walk down the street and all these bouncers look like they came out of the movie Road House. All these bars were free to get in, but usually, the club costs around 20€ but comes with a free drink, so this was a plus. We hopped around about 7 bars, dancing and drinking, anywhere from the salsa to jumping up and down to ABBA. Literal dream.
Because the metro closes at 2 am and doesn't open till 6 am, the only way to go clubbing is if you stay out till 6 am. So, that's exactly what we did. Around 4:30 am, the dancing ended and we found ourselves at this cafe sharing French appetizers and reminiscing our night. We got back on the metro just in time to see the beautiful sunrise.
Going out in Paris became a weekly tradition, hahaha and if you ever find yourself in Paris, I can tell you the best places for a good drink and a fantastic dance floor!
bisous bisous <3
Alaina, this sounds like such a fun experience! Going out seems like such a fun time. I love hearing about all your adventures in Paris and really want to go visit myself. I am so glad you had an amazing time there.

DeleteHey! I can sign off on everything you said. In Europe, and especially in central Europe, the nightlife is great. European food culture is especially diverse in Paris. It's best to walk along the streets of Paris and stop in various small cafes/bars for a drink. Public transport also makes moving around Paris and other European cities easy. Your experience sounds great!
ReplyDeleteHey Alania! I am so envious of your trip, it all sounds so fun. You are such a good witter, I wish your blog was longer. I hope one day I can make it to Paris. I will for sure be back next week to read your new post.
