Fabulous Food In Paris
I'm not saying Paris has the best food in the world, but I consumed some life-changing meals. Let me tell you, food in Paris is not usually cheap, but I survived off €1 baguettes and €2 croissants weekly. The bread was something I would die for; I would eat it every day. I wouldn't say it was the best diet, but it made me enjoy the $50 meals I ate at the best restaurants with friends a couple of times a week.
Cafes in Paris focus more on the experience and the cuisine than anything else. When treated by the server, you most likely sit on the terrace overlooking the city streets and ask for de l'eau ( water). Once your shot glass-size cup of water is filled, wine or a cocktail is already on its way. Dinners in Europe are usually anywhere from an hour to 4 hours long, so be prepared to drink lots of wine and eat slowly. Parisians love to sit and chat for hours over dinner. I honestly think I was made for that lifestyle; I fell in love with it!
The highlight of my weeks consisted of going out to dinner at the best restaurants, drinking the best wine, talking to the hottest servers and eating fabulous food. I can't tell you how often we got a picture with our waiter. The whole night became an experience; the waiter would tell us what wine to drink and what entree to eat and they would chat with us all night. One of my favorite servers ended up sitting with us all night and bought us dessert and limoncello. I know Americans have a reputation in France, but they loved us!
Anyway, below are some of the most fabulous food options in Paris. Stop by some of these spots if you ever find yourself in the city of lights!
Charcuterie boards: Cheese in France is astonishing; eat it everywhere!
Giusé Trattoria: Some of the best Italian food in Paris; the staff was fabulous!

Alaina, this is amazing! I love reading about your experiences in Paris and how you were able to take in the culture. I hope I can go and experience this one day, it is a dream of mine. I am so glad you loved every minute and the food and wine just sound awesome. I cannot wait to read about more of what you did this summer!
ReplyDeleteThe food looks extremely good! Southern European food culture is really exactly what you described. In Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy, I am used to exactly the same kind of slow eating. Especially in the south of France, it's really great to just sit by the sea, eat fresh seafood and drink good white wine!
